Diane & Joe Warren
Diane and Joe are working SO HARD to make Wichita bridge enjoyable.
Diane even passed out personal thank-you notes to the people who
donated $ for the sectional and bought the caddys shirts that
said, "Who's your caddy?" They leave no stone unturned and are so
cognizant of the importance of thanking people.
The least we can do is say, "Thank you so very much, Diane and Joe!"
give great hospitality!
David Erickson
David Erickson is the biggest point winner at the Merry Month of May sectional.
David won the Swiss Teams, was second in both Friday games and scratched on
Saturday to amass 16.55 masterpoints.
Way to go David!
wins at Wichita sectional!
Bob, Margaret, Pat, and Mike
Robert Ellison, Margaret Francel, Patricia Fuller, and Michael Schomaker
won the Fri/Sat Knockout (Bracket 3) event in the Oklahoma
City regional.
That's the way to do it, team!
win KO in OKC!
Diane and Joe
Diane and Joe started playing bridge in August of 1972 vacationing
in upper Michigan on a fishing trip
with friends from Ohio. After the first day the weather turned very chilly
and they decided that learning to play bridge by a cozy fire might just beat
freezing outside fishing.
Fast forward to 2009, a year after Diane's retirement, Diane and Peggy Newell
played at Orchard Park and after one session were "advised"
to take bridge lessons. Diane and Peggy took lessons from Alan Phares,
meeting some wonderful women who decided to form Bridge Divas club one week
after lesson ended. This group of ladies have a wonderful time together,
encouraging and helping each other to become better players.
Oh, by the way, Diane pronounced that if Joe wanted to play with Diane he had
to learn the new rules; which proved to be considerably more difficult than
he ever imagined.
Diane got her life masters about one month before Joe, with each
getting their needed fractional points in a Steve Drumhiller game.
In their own words, "Becoming a life master is a wonderful bridge player milestone
but it seems like we are both just leaning the game."
Congratulations, Diane and Joe!
